Making Good Habits: Never Assume Anything

I’ll be the first to admit I’m not perfect.

No one is perfect.

This is just a fact of life.

One of the reasons I know I’m not perfect is the amount of times which life teaches me a lesson.

The worst part about these life lessons is they usually end up “okay”. However, the actions leading to the resolution usually make it a lot more complicated, awkward and guilt-ridden than they should have been.

You Were Born with Two Ears and One Mouth for a Reason

I tend to talk, a lot.

But only about information that I know, information that I’ve listened to, asked questions about so that I can be knowledgeable when I talk about it.

Which leads me into one of my favorite quotes from an unknown source …

“You were born with two ears and one mouth for a reason.

Connections … The Biggest Advantage You Have

No matter how long you’ve been in the BGI Family …

If you’re an Insurance Agency Owner, you have heard me say time and time again the real business that you are in IS NOT the Insurance business. The real business you are in is the RELATIONSHIP BUSINESS.

The RELATIONSHIP BIZ is about building and maintaining relationships with your customers, prospects, and centers of influence.

Massive Improvement

I believe that almost every person can DOUBLE his or her productivity at work.

Today, I’m going to share with you a process I have used over and over to vastly improve, double, and even quadruple the productivity of hundreds of insurance agency employees within a few months!

If you’re the kind of person who feels like your people are already performing well, you’ll be thrilled to see that often those people are the fastest to improve their productivity.

The 80/20 Principle and Time Management

Over thirty years ago, I discovered the 80/20 Principle and began applying it to my life.

The 80/20 Principle actually stems from ancient times when it was coined “The Pareto Principle.”

What I have to say about this principle and the application of it in my life is very important, so please pay attention.

Are You a Life-Long Learner?

Anyone who knows me will tell you that I am a huge believer in lifelong learning.

Most people do not want to continue learning after they begin in their careers for whatever reason.

This stifles growth in your business and more importantly in every area of your life.

Got Trust?

Over the years, I’ve taught thousands of Insurance Agency Owners plus other small business owners the systems and ideas I’ve learned … and … more importantly, IMPLEMENTED from the best of these owners to run a very successful business.

I would be remiss not to credit my business coaches the great marketing legends Dan Kennedy and Bill Glazer that guided me in the early years of BGI Systems to teach our successful processes and systems on a national scale.

Five Words That Can Transform Your Life

Last week, I was reading an article about how swapping simple words and phrases can change the whole dynamics of conversations and even shift relationships!

So, here are five words (or phrases) I wanted to share with you to start practicing with:

Instead of saying "But" use the word "And" — Using "but" instead of "and" often has the effect of changing a statement into a negative one.

Getting Back to the Good Stuff

As a business owner, you’re constantly overwhelmed by the many tasks you need to complete, the growing list of things to do, commitments in your personal life and business that overlap, etc.

One of the most difficult things about being a business owner can be learning to balance your personal and professional lives.
