The Secret Sauce of Business

In any small business, relationships are the “secret sauce”… those with customers most of all.

Building and nurturing customer relationships is the single biggest advantage of an Insurance Agency Owner.

Our industry is unique in that what we sell is not something people buy just because they want to.

Hard Action or Easy Excuse?

Let me ask you a question.

When you’re faced with a choice, do you choose to take hard action or do you make the easy excuse?

Think about these questions; Do you go to the gym or do you say you’re too busy? Do you call that scary prospect or choose to send an email instead? Do you fire that employee or choose to look the other way hoping they will change?

Most people choose the easy excuse over the hard action.

Be Childlike

I am a big fan of the late, great business philosopher Jim Rohn. I suggest you study him too… google Jim or go online to and subscribe to his weekly inspirational newsletter.

Here is one of his powerful lessons that I want to share with you:

Remember the master teacher once said 2,000 years ago, “Unless you can become like little children, your chances are zero; you haven't got a prayer.

Are You a Life-Long Learner?

Anyone who knows me will tell you that I am a huge believer in lifelong learning. Many people don’t want to continue learning after they begin in their careers for whatever reason.

This is stifling to your growth in your business and in every area of your life.

Whether a person shines shoes for a living or heads up the biggest corporation in the world, the boss remains the same.

It’s the CUSTOMER.

The customer is the person who pays everyone’s salary and who decides whether your business is going to succeed or fail.

Got Trust?

Over the years, I’ve met hundreds of Insurance Agency Owners and have taught them how to implement ideas that I’ve learned in order to run a successful agency. They’ve been able to obtain fast and proven results, and one of the ways that they’ve done that is by making it personal.

Five Words That Can Transform Your Life

Last week, I was reading an article about how swapping simple words and phrases can change the whole dynamics of conversations and even shift relationships!

By the way, Here are five words (or phrases) to start practicing with:

Instead Of "But" Use "And"—Using "but" instead of "and" often has the effect of changing a neutral statement into a negative one.

Get Out of Your Comfort Zone

You know that fear, not money, is the root of all evil, right? Yes, fear, that evil and corroding thread that infiltrates your mind into thinking you are not capable of doing or being all that you want to do or be.
