I am a big fan of the late, great business philosopher Jim Rohn.
I highly recommend you study him. Let his books and wealth of business information mentor you. You will quickly become a big fan too.
You can learn more about him through a simple Google search or visit his website https://www.jimrohn.com/.
Here is a powerful lesson from one of his writings that I would like to share with you:
Remember the master teacher once said 2,000 years ago, “Unless you can become like little children, your chances are zero; you haven't got a prayer.” This is a major consideration for adults. Be like children, and remember there are four ways to be more like a child no matter how old you get…
- Curiosity. Be curious; embrace childish curiosity. Kids use their curiosity to learn.
- Excitement. Learn to get excited like a child. There is nothing that has more magic than childish excitement.
- Faith. Faith is childish. Kids think you can get anything. Adults too often have a tendency to be overly skeptical or cynical.
- Trust. Trust is a childish virtue, but it has great merit.
Curiosity, Excitement, Faith and Trust -- That is a powerful combination to bring (back) into our lives.
As a agency owner you always want to be curious, asking the smart questions of how to perform better. I have found during my career that the people I want to ask those questions to are successful business owners and entrepreneurs.
Second is excitement. To be successful in this life you have to have excitement and enthusiasm. It is contagious… to your team members, prospects, clients, and everyone around you. Plus, it just makes life and business fun!
The last two things are interrelated – Faith and Trust. The way I look at them, trust comes first. You have to have trust before you can have faith in someone. Once you trust a source you can have faith. So, how does that work in my business? When I seek information, to improve or to create value in my life and my business, I seek it from trusted sources.
