As a business owner, you are in a leadership position, and your leadership style affects not only how your employees view you, but more importantly how they respond to your action (or lack of action).
All leadership positions are subject to this equally. (This is true of me and my team at BGI as well.)
There are several mistakes that you, as a good leader, should try your best to never make, like not practicing humility. There are few things more obnoxious than someone who thinks they are the most important person in the room (even when they are!)
Also, as leaders, we must admit when we are wrong, when we make a mistake, or when we realize a task could have been completed in a better or more efficient way by someone else or with help.
By admitting our faults, we sweep the floor clean and help make way for progress, growth, and new ideas.
Make it a goal tomorrow to start your week with a fresh outlook. Let’s make this year the best it can be – after all, 2019 will be over before we know it.
Aim to catch yourself in 3 interactions with others, especially with customers and your employees.
Take mental note of 3 areas where you could improve your perspective or stand to gain some knowledge.
Sometimes, when we adjust our outlook, we are more perceptive and more likely to find new possibilities or be inspired to create them.
Take a chance and discover something new about yourself, your attitude, or your behavior this week.
