Help Yourself First

By Bill Gough, Allstate Hall of Fame Member

Did you know that for small business owner and entrepreneurs, like you and me, the key to better serving your customers, prospects, and center’s of influence is centered in your own personal development?

In other words, the best improvement we can make in our professional lives is to focus on ourselves! If we become 10 times wiser, 10 times stronger, 10 times better, just think of how much more effectively we can serve our customers and develop trusting and lasting relationships with them.

Imagine how much of a better leader you will be for trusted team members that run your successful agency.

If we learn to create happiness for ourselves, those around us now have an excellent chance to be happy. Self-development enables us to serve, and to be more valuable to those around us. If we continuously focus on improving every aspect of our lives and character, we will inevitably become more successful within our market as well as in our personal relationships.</p>

Set aside some time each day to focus on your own development, surround yourself with successful people and learn from those who have gone before you. One of my personal favorites is the great business philosopher Jim Rohn. You can have the great Jim Rohn mentor you every morning FREE – check it out at

Opportunity will then begin to seek you out.

Your reputation will begin to precede you and people will want to do business with you.

All of that possibility is created by adopting and applying the philosophy that success is something you attract by continually working on our your personal development.
