Last week, I read an email about how our words can shape our reality.
Let’s face it. Words are powerful. They have the power to create and shape our lives.
Anytime you speak something whether it’s in your thoughts or out loud, you are giving life to what you are saying; good or bad.
So many of us go around saying negative things about ourselves, our families, and our futures.
Have you ever said these things to yourself?
- “I’ll never be successful.”
- “I’ll never get over this illness.”
- “Business is slow. I’ll never make it at this pace.”
- “It’s flu season again. I’ll probably get it.”
Even the smallest negative statements can shape what really happens in your life.
You will reap what you sow when it comes to what you are speaking.
You can turn this around. If you want to stop allowing negativity from controlling your life, you’ve got to send your words out in the direction you want your life to go.
Talking about lack will not produce abundance.
Your words are either going to benefit or condemn your future and reflect what you’ve been saying.
For Example: Earlier this week I was in a Mastermind meeting with 21 other ultra-successful business owners including Roxanne Emmerich. Roxanne caught me making a “negative” statement about myself and quickly pointed it out to me:
“Bill did you realize that you said you ‘act’ that way when you meant to say,
‘I used to act’ that way”
She is right as today; I practice gratitude in difficult times and try to stay humble in the good times.
Make sure your words are positive whether you believe it or not. That’s called faith. And, faithful words can move mountains.
Embrace uncertainty with positive statements and your life will begin to follow suit.
