I am a big fan of the late, great business philosopher Jim Rohn. I suggest you study him too… google Jim or go online to www.jimrohn.com and subscribe to his weekly inspirational newsletter.
Here is one of his powerful lessons that I want to share with you:
Remember the master teacher once said 2,000 years ago, “Unless you can become like little children, your chances are zero; you haven't got a prayer.”
This is a major consideration for adults. Be like children, and remember there are four ways to be more like a child no matter how old you get…
- Curiosity. Be curious; embrace childish curiosity. Kids use their curiosity to learn.
- Happiness. Learn to be joyful like a child. There is nothing that has more magic than childish happiness and laughter.
- Faith. Faith is childish. Kids think you can get anything. Adults too often have a tendency to be overly skeptical or fearful.
- Trust. Trust is a childish virtue, but it has great merit.
As a business owner you should always be curious, asking smart questions about how to perform better. The best people to ask are successful business owners and entrepreneurs.
Second is happiness. To be successful you have to have enthusiasm. It is contagious… to your team members, prospects clients, and COIs. Plus, it just makes life and business fun!
The last two things are related – Faith and Trust. The way I see it, trust comes first. You must choose to trust to have faith. When I seek information for my business or life, to improve or to create more value, I seek it from trusted sources.
